SIRANE MD Simon Balderson will deliver a speech on Sirane’s growth as a company at a ‘Future Food’ supply chain event at Wolverhampton University later this month.
The event – organised by Lloyds Bank, The University of Wolverhampton and Telford & Wrekin Council – has been organised to ‘stimulate and inform all businesses in the farm to fork supply chain’ and is being held at the University’s Telford campus on April 28.
It is one of a series of events organised under the Marches Growth Hub banner – which is dedicated to helping business across Shropshire, Herefordshire & Worcestershire grow, and ensuring that all the necessary advice and resources is readily available.
Sirane is an innovative packaging design, development, manufacture and solutions company which specialises in areas including absorbency and oven-ready/microwaveable products, compostable packaging, films, boards, pads, and much more. As well as food packaging, the company has three additional divisions: medical & healthcare; horticultural & industrial.
In little more than a decade, the company has grown to become a major supplier of innovative packaging into the food trade, with additional manufacturing in Turkey and Mexico, warehousing in South Africa, and agents all across the world.
In a constantly evolving and ever-demanding industry, Sirane is currently at the forefront of antimicrobial technology in food packaging, but also continues to develop numerous packaging technologies including absorbent packaging, oven/microwave packaging, packaging which offers extra shelf-life and more. Things never stay static.

Simon will talk about Sirane’s growth from a single unit in Telford to being an international company exporting all over the world with a workforce of more than 100.
Other speakers include Rhys Herbert, a senior macroeconomist for Lloyds Bank, who will give an insight into the global market perspective of the food industry, and Harper Adams University’s Simon Thelwell who will talk on ‘The Dimension of Innovation’.
