SIRANE’S plastic-free flow-wrap film Earthfilm was featured on Channel 4’s Food Unwrapped last night.
Episode 1 of the new series – which aired on Monday, November 15 – explored how the UK food industry is meeting the challenges of climate change, and saw presenter Kate Quilton visit our Telford headquarters to find out more about paper-based packaging alternatives from our NPD manager Rachel McKenna.
Earthfilm is our paper-based barrier film (also available as a stand-up pouch, Earthpouch) which is a paper with a water-based coating which gives it the required barrier properties as well as allowing the material to be heat-sealed.
Simon Balderson, Sirane MD, said: “It was great to welcome the Food Unwrapped team to our Telford site, and showcase one of our many innovative packaging solutions. The programme generated a lot of interest, we’ve already had some inquiries from viewers keen to know more.”
