OVENABLE absorbent pads serve two purposes – they provide absorbency in the packaging, meaning the meat or seafood looks better on the shelf – but they can also be used by the consumer during cooking for a crispier, healthier result.
Dri-Fresh® Supreme™ ovenable pads can be used with roast chickens etc and joints of meat seafood and more, and the absorbent pads are placed inside the tray, under the food.
Simon Balderson, Sirane MD, said: “Our Supreme absorbent pads are a very popular and very versatile packaging solution. Not only do they offer effective absorbency in the pre-packed state, but then they come into their own during the cooking process.
“The ovenable pads will absorb all of the fat and juices released during cooking, which results in cleaner, crispier, healthier food and safer easier handling for the consumer.”
Dri-Fresh® Supreme™ ovenable pads can be used in ovens & grills at up to 200OC. They can be made to custom sizes in order to suit the various trays manufacturers are using. Pads are available in a range of absorbencies, as well as in a range of different colours.
Ovenable pads can also be used during elevated-temperature packaging operations such as MAP/Skin packaging, thermoforming etc, where the pad itself needs resistance to heat.
