PLASTIC-FREE World Virtual Conference & Expo begins next week – and even the humble absorbent pad is a product we have a plastic-free alternative for.
The Earthpad is aimed at anyone wanting to go truly green – it’s an absorbent pad which is both compostable and recyclable as part of the paper stream.

Earthpad Resource absorbent pads are a cellulose absorbent layer, bonded to a paper-based top or bottom layer with a bio-polymer coating. We have run successful trials with tray-makers in high-speed operations, who were packing fruit.
The pads have potential use within fruit, meat and seafood industries and more.
Earthpad Resource is available in any size, shape or configuration, including slit rolls. They are currently available in white, with a range of colours available soon. A range of absorbency grades are available – from 800cc/M2 up to 3,000cc/M2.
The Plastic-Free World Conference & Expo has gone virtual for 2020 – with Sirane one of the companies who will now have a seminar live streamed.
Two events had been scheduled by organisers Trans-Global Events – Cologne in June, which had already been rescheduled, and Atlanta in November. Both were postponed and replaced with a virtual event which runs November 9-10.
Sirane MD Simon Balderson will deliver a virtual seminar on plastic-free packaging solutions – with a particular focus on coated board and coated papers, and how they can be used to replace plastics within the food packaging supply chain.
