SIRANE will exhibit at the Plastic Waste Free World Conference & Expo in Atlanta next week – as part of our expansion into North America.
The exhibition in Georgia will also us to focus heavily on our plastic-free, recyclable and compostable packaging solutions – as well as talk to visitors about our plans to open in Grand Prairie, TX, later this year.
And our NPD manager, Rachel McKenna, will be on stage on the second day of the show talking about the possibilities offered by our range.
Karl Heggarty, head of global sales, said: “While Sirane offers a huge range of packaging solutions, this show offers us the chance to talk about our eco-friendly packaging solutions, and we have a lot to talk about.
“Earth Packaging is a significant area for us, and an area where we’ve invested time and resource in developing sustainable alternatives.
“Whether you’re looking for plastic-free packaging, recyclable packaging or compostable packaging, Sirane invariably has the solution.”
Everything in our Earth Packaging range is either compostable or recyclable and is either paper-based, board-based or bio-material-based.
Our range includes our plastic-free recyclable barrier pouches – Earthpouch, and our plastic-free recyclable barrier film for flow-wrap – Earthfilm.
Our award-winning Earthpouches are paper-based stand-up pouches with a barrier coating (which also allows the pouch to seal). They are perfect for nuts and snacks, confectionery, pet treats, coffee, supplements and more, and the pouches can be recycled in the paper-recycling stream.
Within the last year we’ve added plastic-free quad-packs to the range and have also added an ovenable version – Earthpouch Supreme.
However, plastic-free won’t work for everyone – and we can also offer a range of recyclable plastics, which are our RePEat range. These materials can all be recycled as part of the PE recycling stream.
Our RePEat range includes our new spouted pouches, which we showed at Packaging Innovations in Birmingham last week for the first time.
Peter Ralten, chief commercial officer, said: “The spouted pouches proved really popular at Packaging Innovations. There are millions of these pouches used, and we’re offering a way to ensure they can be recycled.”
Other RePEat formats include vacuum pouches and stand-up pouches.
From our Earthboard range we offer paper-recyclable salmon boards, which can be used in conjunction with our recyclable RePEat vacuum pouches.
We also offer a range of other recyclable coated boards including cake-boards and cake-collars, salmon boards and ovenable boards.
We have our twisted-handle paper-grab bags – a sustainable shopping bag – as well as our RePeat recyclable and reusable insulated bags.
Sirane also offers plastic-free tree-shelters – our Earthboard tree-shelters are made from a naturally water-resistant board with additional protective coatings and are designed to last out in the field for many years.
Ultimately, however, they will eventually break down and return to the soil – removing the time-consuming job of collecting them all in.
Bio-materials on offer include compostable cling-film and shrink-film, and we can also offer compostable pallet wrap for both manual and machine wrap.
Earlier this year we announced our intention to open a manufacturing site in Grand Prairie, Texas. The site will allow us to manufacture flexible packaging solutions such as our plastic-free Earthpouch, and also give us a foothold in the US from where we can sell other packaging solutions.
Sirane will be at Plastic Waste-Free World in Atlanta from June 8-9 – stand 1016. We’re also exhibiting at the World Travel Catering Expo in Hamburg.
Rachel McKenna’s talk – ‘Earth Packaging, what are the possibilities with our latest material innovations?’ – takes place on June 9, 10.15am-10.40am.
