PACKAGING Innovations at the NEC, which has scheduled for February, has been postponed and will now take place in May 2022.
Organisers Easyfairs accounted the postponement this week, with concerns that the current state of the pandemic would significantly impact visitor numbers.
A statement from Easyfairs said: As you know, for the past few months we have been working tirelessly with all of our partners, exhibitors and the community as a whole to plan the upcoming edition of Packaging Innovations & Empack NEC on 16 & 17 February 2022. The event is shaping up to be a fantastic gathering that will unite and inspire the whole packaging community.
“However, the latest developments in the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and the rapid spread of the Omicron variant are presenting major obstacles to our ability to organise a successful event in February. These include current recommendations relating to home working and significant new travel restrictions for overseas participants in the event. This combination of circumstances, which are out of our control, will have a detrimental impact on the number of visitors, exhibitors, partners and speakers who are able to participate and therefore constitute a force majeure situation with regards to the organisation of the exhibition.”
Sirane is exhibiting at the show – and will be there on the new dates, May 25-26.
Sirane MD, Simon Balderson, said: “While it’s a shame another trade show has been moved, the last thing anyone wants is empty halls, so I think this is a wise decision, and we look forward to welcoming people to our stand in May.
“We’ll have the same high level of innovation, and plenty of developments in the sustainable packaging sector, and we’re all looking forward to it.”
“It we can help you in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”
Sirane can be found at stand G50. For more information on Packaging Innovations Birmingham, May 25-26 – visit https://www.packagingbirmingham.com/
