SIRANE has made a key appointment in the US ahead of our opening manufacturing Stateside – with Gerard Battaglia joining the team.
Gerard – a vastly experienced and well-known name in the print world – has joined Sirane North America as technical development manager.
Simon Balderson, Sirane MD, said: “Gerard is a seasoned industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience in print production, sourcing and the graphics services industry, and is very well known – not just in the United States and Canada, but also by many companies here in the UK.
“As we gear up to opening our own manufacturing facility in Texas before the end of the year, at which printing will form a key part of the Sirane offer, Gerard’s expertise and experience will be invaluable.”
Gerard Battaglia is an expert in his field, based in North America, and is a global leader in print quality management. He has worked with numerous CPG companies in expanding their printing needs.
He always brought his clients to the best production teams to create successful printed components for new product launches and line extensions. Through his experiences over the years, he has gained a great understanding of flexible packaging, printed films, pressure sensitive labels, and folding cartons and other packaging related materials.
Gerard lives in New York, with his wife Mary, and has 2 grown daughters.
Sirane is currently finalising plans to operate a new packaging production site out of Texas – with a site in the city of Grand Prairie on the cards.
The site in the Lone Star State will allow us to manufacture flexible packaging solutions such as our plastic-free Earthpouch, and also give us a foot-hold in the US from where we can look to sell other packaging solutions.
Grand Prairie is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth conurbation.
Simon Balderson, Sirane MD, said: “This has been months in the planning, and we hope to be fully operational in the United States this year.
“We’re looking at sites in the Grand Prairie area, and as soon as we have decided on a location, we hope to be able to move pretty fast.
“This will be a significant move – we have been aiming to manufacture in the US for a number of years and are now in a position to make it happen.
“Gerard’s appointment will certainly help make that happen.”
The move will be the third significant expansion by Sirane in recent months, with our new site in the Czech Republic about to become operational and a third site in the UK opened as a home to our innovative board division.
Sirane is an innovative packaging development-to-manufacture company, with expertise in absorbency and material science. The company’s specialisms include: board; bags, pouches & film; absorbent products; shelf-life extension; plastic replacement and dual-ovenable products.
It has four main divisions: food packaging; horticultural; medical & healthcare; and lab supplies & services. The company is based in Telford, UK, with additional manufacturing in Guadalajara (Mexico), and Hranice (Czech Republic), with a network of agents/distributors.
