POUCH-CONVERSION machinery is about to arrive at Sirane North America – the next major step in beginning manufacturing in Texas.
Earlier this year Sirane signed a lease on a manufacturing site in Grand Prairie – as well as appointing a general manager, Jeff Yurtin, to run the new site.
Jeff has since been joined by Juan Rodríguez as operations manager.
Peter Ralten, chief commercial officer, said: “The machinery about to arrive in Texas is key for us, as it will allow us to begin converting stand-up pouches – and in particular our plastic-free recyclable pouches, Earthpouch.
“We recently exhibited at the Plastic-Free World North America conference & expo in Atlanta, which generated plenty of interest in our sustainable packaging solutions, so now we’re keen to get fully operational.”
The site in the Lone Star State will allow us to manufacture flexible packaging solutions such as our plastic-free Earthpouch, and also give us a foothold in the US from where we can look to sell other packaging solutions.
Grand Prairie is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth conurbation.
The US expansion is the third significant expansion by Sirane in recent months, with our new site in the Czech Republic now operational and a third site in the UK opened as a home to our innovative board division.
Sirane is an innovative packaging development-to-manufacture company, with expertise in absorbency and material science. The company’s specialisms include: board; bags, pouches & film; absorbent products; shelf-life extension; plastic replacement and dual-ovenable products.
