WITH business continuing to grow Sirane is installing another top-of-the range stand-up pouch machine at the company’s main headquarters in Telford (Shropshire).
The new machine can manufacture the innovative paper-based Earthpouch, the PE recyclable RePEat pouch, retort packaging and many of the other Sirane products incorporating venting, microwavable and ovenable technology.
It will feature the latest technologies available in pouch making including making and registering pouches using two separate webs.
Peter Ralten, head of specialist packaging at Sirane, said: “At Sirane we continue to have a positive mindset and we see opportunities whilst other suppliers are taking pouch production out of the UK. Sirane is at the forefront of innovation and we will keep investing in technology and developing solutions.”
The specialist packaging division of Sirane has more than 30 years’ experience in the manufacture of insulated bags, side-weld bags and stand-up pouches. Its business is regarded as an innovative and responsive supplier; producing high quality, specialist flexible packaging for food manufacturers on a global basis.
Our Earth Packaging range includes our award-winning plastic-free packaging ‘Earthpouch’ – a paper-based solution with a heat-sealable coating, which is preformed into a stand-up pouch, along with a flow-wrap film Earthfilm.
Both products are available in standard, barrier and high barrier.
Our RePEat film is a newly launched recyclable PE film. Because the film, including laminates and zip-locks, are solely made from LDPE, it is recyclable.
And other specialisms include retort pouches – with a range of options available for anyone looking for packaging suitable for commercial sterilisation.
Peter Ralten added: “Our plastic-free Earthpouch grabs the headlines, but it won’t be suitable for every application, so our RePEat pouches are also worth a look. They are recyclable as part of the LDPE stream, which is becoming widespread.”
Sirane is an innovative food packaging development-to-manufacture company, with expertise in absorbency and material science. Specialisms include bags and pouches, absorbent products, shelf-life extension and dual-ovenable products.
The company has sites in the UK as well as additional manufacturing in Poland, Russia and Mexico, as well as a network of international agents and distributors.
Last year the Telford site was expanded by 40% to increase capacity – as well as acquiring B&G Products – and the company now employs more than 200 people.
We’ll be at Packaging Innovations at Birmingham’s NEC later this month – February 26-27. Our stand at the show is L30 – right next to the popular Eco-Pack Theatre.
We’re also exhibiting at CFIA in Rennes from March 10-12 – find us at E21.
