SIRANE now offers a wide range of board products – including cake boards, pizza boards, salmon boards, patisserie boards and cake collars.
The range includes standard and eco-friendly versions of many products – and we are looking at building up the range – with new products on the horizon.
Simon Balderson, Sirane MD, said: “Our product range is based around fibrous board products, many of which are already compostable and recyclable.
“We plan to extend this product range, using our Earth Packaging banner, into all areas of food packaging which currently use plastic-coated and laminated boards. We are combining our expertise in board with our expertise in other areas, such as absorbency and paper-based films, to create some exciting new products.
“Our sustainable plastic-free sandwich packs – the Earthwedge – are a great example of this, taking our board and our plastic-free films to create a product which is not only environmentally friendly but also has the necessary shelf-life.
“This will undoubtedly be the first of many innovative board product launches – but in the meantime, take a look at our existing range of board-based products.”
Cake boards and patisserie boards are available from Sirane in a range of sizes, colours and types – including eco-friendly. Salmon boards are available as standard in combinations of gold, silver and black. We can also supply U-cards/J-cards.
We can also supply a range of specialist ovenable boards.
Simon Balderson added: “It’s also possible to combine our board with other existing Sirane technologies, such as susceptor for crisping food in a microwave. So, for example, a U-card could be printed on the outside and have susceptor on the inside allowing the contents to be crisped effectively and quickly in a microwave.”
Earlier this year Sirane completed the acquisition of Olympic – a UK-based manufacturer of board products supplying the bakery, fish and cake industries among others which is based just outside Stroud, Gloucestershire.
Now known as Sirane Stroud, the site has specialised board processing equipment and are highly skilled in board processing operations. They supply products throughout the UK through both via distributors and direct sales.
Sirane is an innovative packaging development-to-manufacture company, with expertise in absorbency and material science. Specialisms include bags and pouches, absorbent products, shelf-life extension and dual-ovenable products.
It has four main divisions: food packaging; medical & healthcare; horticultural and industrial. The company is based in Telford, Shropshire, with additional manufacturing in Guadalajara (Mexico), Wroclaw (Poland) and Moscow (Russia).
