A GLUTEN-FREE product using a Sirane food packaging solution will find out tomorrow whether it has won a top award at the Bakery Industry Awards in London.
The Incredible Bakery Company’s ‘incredible onion panini’ has been shortlisted in the Free-From Bakery Product of the Year category at the prestigious showcase in the capital.
The gluten free products are packed into Sirane oven/microwave cooking bags and then heat-sealed, before being shipped into stores, delicatessens, farm shops and restaurants. As the product can be heated in the packaging, any cross contamination is avoided.
Jeremy Haydn-Davies, sales director, said: “The Incredible Bakery Company has found a great use for our cooking bags, and it allows them to make, transport and heat the food without any fear of cross contamination, vital when it is a ‘free-from’ product.
“The product can even be made and frozen in the bag for subsequent reheating or defrosting, depending on the intended final use of the product.

The Bakery Industry Awards take place at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Wednesday, September 9th. The Incredible Bakery Company’s competition will come from Genius Gluten Free’s ‘genius crumpets’ and Four Anjels’ ‘sour cherry bakewell’.
